I have been involved in agility since 1997 and have had the great privilege to run so many fantastic agility dogs. To date they have brought me 4 Agility Trial Champions, 1 Lifetime Achievement Award, 3 Gold Award of Merit, 4 Silver Award of Merit, 7 Regional Champions, and 4 National Champions. My favorite part however is running with my best fur buddies.
In my early years of agility I was introduced to Australian Cattle Dogs. Their drive and love of work opened up many other doors for me in dog sport. Camajo was my first registered ACD and we had fun trialing in Agility, Conformation, Obedience, Rally-O and Sheep Herding. His son Vucko has continued the tradition as well as introduced me to the fun sport of Scent Detection. Vucko’s favorite activity is herding and I love herding so much that we now have our very own flock of sheep! I can’t wait to see what our next generation of Chinook Dog Centre dogs will bring.
All of the classes that I teach focus on fun first. I use a combination of praise, toys and food to make sure that the dogs have a great time in class. When the dogs have fun they run well and the handlers have a great time too. I love watching the dogs and handlers learn and improve. By keeping the class sizes small, each dog and handler will have plenty of running time and practice. Each team works a bit differently and my many years of experience working with so many different breeds, sizes and temperaments of dogs gives me many tools to help you reach your training goals. Happy Training!
