We offer semi-private sheep and duck herding lessons for all herding breeds 10 months of age or older.
Our facility offers multiple training areas to suit each dog and handler. Our fully enclosed round pen is perfect for starting dogs or reinforcing control on started dogs. The next step up is a 100 X 120 training ring to get the dogs used to keeping control of stock in a slightly larger space. Graduate into the CKC trial arena which is 200 X 300 and complete with take pen and obstacles.
Try it Out!
All dogs must first participate in a “Try it out day” first to see if it is a good fit for the dog/handler/myself/sheep. The cost is $31.50 for one 20 minute work on the sheep. All sessions will be on a long line in the round pen. Safety of the stock is our main priority. All dogs must have basic obedience skills with a good lie down/sit at a distance to participate. Herding lessons are based on a pressure (correction) and release type of training.
